ILIGAN City observed a special non-working holiday today, June 16, in celebration of the 75th Adlaw sa Iligan (Iligan Charter Day). As a result, classes in the city will resume tomorrow, June 17.

City Administrator Dr. Darwin Manubag said the day’s events included a civic-military parade, kasikas sa kadalanan (street dancing) with participation from various local groups, art exhibits, and singing contests held at different venues across the city.

The holiday is declared under Proclamation No. 912 issued by Malacañang, allowing Iliganons to come together and commemorate the city’s founding. Local schools and colleges also issued internal memos in support of the celebration.
