But this week, the erstwhile stalwart of the Padayon Pilipino publicly bashed the party’s politics after a Facebook troll account posted a fake news about his latest travel to the US. “I’m glad I freed myself from the politics of deception, self-centeredness and envious hearts to anyone who serves well his/her people,” Nacaya posted on his Facebook wall on Monday morning. His post came after a Facebook account, “CDO Social Weather”, posted on Aug. 11 what was made to pass off as a “blind news item” regarding the recently concluded “Tapok 2017” in the US. The Aug. 11 post reads: “The kagawad scolded Ms. Gwendolyn Garcia (PP) and wife of the current president of Kagay-anon International-North Carolina Chapter for starting the gala night program without him and the rest of the entourage.” Along with the post was a photo partially covered but still recognizable as that of Nacaya. Nacaya countered by posting that the administration of the troll account was meant to destroy his efforts and because of his support for Mayor Oscar Moreno’s administration. The mayor is a political nemesis of ex-mayor Vicente Emano, founder and titular head of the Padayon Pilipino. “This boils down [to] one thing, it is not service they desire in their hearts, only personal advancement and interest why they are involved in politics,” Nacaya stated. For her part, Garcia commented on the CDO Social Weather post that no such thing happened. She said Nacaya did not berate anyone during the event. “There was no such incident. It’s true some of them came late but they were ushered in and properly seated. It was Carmen Bacarrisas who checked them in and I put on their wrist bands,” Garcia’s stated. Bacarrisas also corroborated Garcia’s comment. She even commented on how polite the councilors were. “The kagawads were polite, apologized for arriving very late,” Bacarrisas’s comment on the same thread reads. A member of Nacaya’s staff said they suspected that a stalwart of the Padayon Pilipino was behind the fake news and the CDO Social Weather account. The staff member said he used to maintain a troll account for the Padayon Pilipino.
