A Gingoog City Health official was found dead inside his Starex van at 5:20 pm, Saturday, November 15, in Purok Cabulawan, Barangay Solana, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental.
Authorities identified the victim as Downey Reyes Valdevilla, Jr., 54-year-old, a resident of Barangay 15, in Gingoog City.
The victim is the son of a retired judge who was found dead, alone in his Hyundai Starex. He is currently the Administrative Officer of the Gingoog City Health Office.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim was found lifeless, lying inside the abandoned Hyundai Starex vehicle, color gold, bearing plate no. ZNW 693, along the national highway of said place.
The report says, the victim sustained multiple stab wounds to various parts of his body which caused his death.
Upon opening the door of the vehicle, according to the report, the authorities found the victim, lifeless, lying in the back seat of his vehicle with multiple injuries.
Authorities found four bottles of beer in the front seat of the vehicle.
Police Senior Master Sergeant Jopie M. Loretero, Investigator, said in a phone call, the investigation is still ongoing, as of this posting.
