CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY ― The national government joined the Muslim community in celebrating Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan with a renewed call to bridge cultural divides and build lasting peace.
In an emailed advisory, Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo Jr. delivered President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s message of solidarity to the Bangsamoro and Muslim communities nationwide.
Highlighting the resilience and devotion of the Muslim Ummah, Lagdameo noted that their discipline and sacrifice during Ramadan offer an inspiration to all Filipinos.
“Eid’l Fitr reminds us that beyond our differences, we are one nation guided by faith, respect, and a shared vision for peace; may the spirit of Ramadan strengthen our unity and commitment to uplift every Filipino,” Lagdameo said.
He urged communities to continue working together to promote mutual respect and development, particularly in areas still striving for long-term stability.
In an earlier message, Marcos emphasized the importance of compassion, discipline, and spiritual reflection.
He noted that the lessons of Ramadan should guide Filipinos in building a more inclusive nation, underscoring that Eid al-Fitr is not just a celebration, but a reminder of our shared responsibility to foster understanding across different faiths.
