TOWN officials in Misamisn Oriental suspended classes at all levels Monday in Gingoog City, Medina, and Talisayan due to heavy rains from Tropical Depression Verbena.
Gingoog City Mayor Erick Cañosa and Talisayan Mayor Ciriaco Talines issued separate orders Sunday suspending Monday’s classes. They also posted weather advisories on their official social media accounts.
Cañosa warned residents near riverbanks of possible flooding, along with those in coastal and landslide-prone areas. He urged vigilance regarding weather conditions.

In Medina, Mayor Marriane Chan suspended schools for Monday and Tuesday.
Similar to the situation in Gingoog City, Talines continues to monitor flood- and landslide-prone areas in Talisayan. Talines also suspended work for non-teaching staff on Monday, except for those required for emergency duties.
