FACE-to-face classes in all public and private schools in Gingoog City are suspended starting today, Oct. 13, according to an executive order issued by City Mayor Erick G. Cañosa.

Cañosa announced the suspension in a Facebook post, citing the need to ensure the safety of students and school personnel following a series of earthquakes in the city.

The class suspension was confirmed by Schools Division Superintendent Edgardo Abanil of the Department of Education (DepEd) Gingoog.

Cañosa said the measure will allow for the continued structural inspection of school buildings and will remain in effect until further notice.

In nearby Medina, Misamis Oriental, Mayor Marianne L. Chan also issued Executive Order No. MMLC 25-23 suspending classes in all levels. Chan advised students to remain in their homes for safety.
