GINGOOG City Hall employees will receive a salary increase next year, Mayor Erick G. Cañosa announced during the Monday flag-raising ceremony on Dec. 16, which was also live-streamed on the city’s official Facebook page.
The pay hike follows Gingoog City’s recent reclassification from a second-class to a first-class city, a milestone that reflects the city’s growth and progress.
While Mayor Cañosa did not disclose specific details about the salary increase for regular employees, he confirmed that job order (JO) workers will see their daily wage rise from P346 to the minimum wage of P426 starting in 2025.
The Department of Finance declared Gingoog City a first-class component city under Department Order 074-2024, recognizing its economic activity, effective service delivery, and good governance.
Provincial Board Member Wayne Militante congratulated the current administration for achieving first-class city status, saying it will attract more investments, economic opportunities, and jobs.
He also commended the salary increase, describing it as a significant boost for city employees.
“This achievement fulfills a promise to make Gingoog a first-class city and provides much-needed support for our workers,” Militante said.
