Claim: For more than 40 years and six (6) administrations, all the Filipino people only had been proposals, studies, drawings, and presentations.
Category: False
Complete Details: A Facebook post by We Are One Pilipinas shared a screenshot of a post by Joey Cruz Manalang who claims that the Metro Manila Subway project was spearheaded by the Aquino III administration. This was debunked with the caption: "For more than 40 years and six (6) administrations, all the Filipino people only had been proposals, studies, drawings, and presentations" and then proceeds to provide a timeline of the project under the present administration.
Why we fact check this: The subway plan was indeed proposed in the 70s but was shelved for being not feasible, thus giving birth to the LRT instead. In 2014, the plan was revived. This post tries to fix the blame on the six administrations in the past 40 years for nothing to get the project done and to bring focus on the present administration getting the credit for moving the project forward and purports to show that this was only possible because of the present administration.
