A high-level delegation from the European Union is set to arrive in Northern Mindanao later this week to strengthen ties and assess development projects in the region.
The delegation, comprising the EU Ambassador to the Philippines and ambassadors and chargés d’affaires from various EU member states, will visit Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon to explore opportunities for further collaboration.
The diplomatic mission aims to acquaint the envoys with the region’s economic and social landscape.
They are scheduled to meet with Cagayan de Oro Mayor Rolando Uy and Misamis Oriental Gov. Juliette Uy.
Beyond courtesy calls, the delegation will inspect key EU-funded initiatives, including the “Strengthening the Implementation of Regional and Local Peace and Development Agendas in Mindanao” (SPADe) project, which focuses on agricultural value chain development, investment promotion, and peace-building efforts.
