HUNGRY stomachs, in time of the pandemic, won’t spare anything even the resting place of the departed ones.
In Don Carlos, Bukidnon, the people of the supposedly booming town with a new “international airport” soon to rise, was shocked and horrified to learn that their public cemetery had been desecrated.
The gated graveyards of mostly prominent families were now without the iron grills that those affected could not help but went to social media to express their great disappointment.
“Way puangod way batasan unsa pa angay itawag sa mga tao nga ing ana mga kawatan lagot kau ko sos ug na lagi ko masapon ba ambot lng kaha onsa ako mabuhat sa ila mapusposan gyod,” said one Teresita Campoamor after visiting the cemetery and got stunned by her discovery.
“Halos tanan dagko nga lubnganan hurot hurot na ang mga grills,” she said.
Another one Jerumex Ochigue ranted: “Bisan atup kawatun gabaan rana sila labaw pa ang balos ana sa ila.”
Town councilor Jun Abrena told Gold Star Daily the graveyards of their loved ones were also desecrated.
“I think tungod na kini sa kalisod sa panahon kay ang mga batan-on nga kawatan nahipos naman sa among kapolisan,” he said.
Abrena said a new cemetery from nearby was already operational that there was an announcement beforehand that all concerns could now transfer the remains of their dead members from the old cemetery to the new one.
“Actually, naa na sab daan gapangguba sa ilang mga lubnganan apan nisakay na pud dayon ang kawat daghan gyod nahawan ilang mga grills. Padayon ang imbestigasyon aduna nay suspek karon ang kapolisan,” Abrena said.
