THE Cagayan de Oro City Police Office hosted a ‘Harmony of Peace’ musical outreach and crime prevention event yesterday, September 21, at Kiosko Kagawasan in Divisoria Plaza.
The event, led by the City Police Office, was an inter-agency effort, according to Capt. Emilita Simon, the city police spokesperson.
It drew more than 700 criminology students in two sessions, with 390 attending in the morning and 330 in the afternoon.
‘Harmony of Peace’ featured an exchange of musical talents between police officers and students.

Attendees also received lectures on topics such as understanding the law, respecting the rights of suspects, and self-defense techniques.
The initiative was established as a multi-task response team to address any incidents, particularly those that may occur during protests.
The event took place on the same day as a separate anti-corruption rally organized by different groups.
Agencies present at the event included the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency-10, and the Bureau of Fire.
