Rolando “Klarex” Uy said at least 3,594 Kagay-anons received government assistance and frontline services during the city’s recent People’s Day held at the City Hall Quadrangle.

Uy described the turnout as proof that more residents benefit when government services are brought closer and made easier to access.

“Usa kini ka buhi nga pamatuod nga kung ang serbisyo duolon sa katawhan, daghan ang matabangan,” Uy said.

The mayor thanked City Hall departments, department managers, and employees for helping deliver public services directly to residents, particularly those seeking immediate assistance and faster government transactions.

“Dako akong pasalamat sa tanang departamento, labi na sa atong mga Department Managers ug mga kauban sa City Hall, sa ilang walay puas nga pagserbisyo sa katawhan,” he added.

According to Uy, the People’s Day program allows residents to personally raise concerns and requests before city officials without going through lengthy processes.

“Ang People’s Day usa ka pamaagi aron ang personal nato nga maatubang ang mga katawhan ug pagtubag sa ilang mga hinanaling panginahanglanon,” he said.

For residents, this means:

Government services and assistance programs may become more accessible through direct community engagements.

Residents with urgent concerns can coordinate directly with City Hall during scheduled People’s Day activities.

More outreach activities are expected as the city government plans to bring the program to barangays in the coming weeks.

Uy said the city government intends to continue expanding the initiative beyond City Hall to reach more communities.

“Sa sunod nga semana, dad-on na usab nato kini sa atong kabarangayan. Kini ang atong tinguha nga serbisyo nga may Kasingkasing ug Kalidad,” the mayor said.
