CAGAYAN de Oro City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) held a three-day exhibit at local schools from July 9 to July 11 as part of National Disaster Resilience Month.

The event aimed to educate students on disaster preparedness and emphasize their vulnerability during emergencies.

The department displayed various life-saving tools and demonstrated their proper use in rescue scenarios. Students also learned the importance of contacting emergency services, including the 911 hotline.

Participating schools included Bulua National High School, Carmen National High School, and Camaman-an Elementary School. The Bureau of Fire Protection and Smart Communications supported the initiative.

This year’s National Disaster Resilience Month theme is “Kumilos Para sa Kahandaan, Kaligtasan at Katatagan.”

The CDRRMD plans to continue its outreach activities throughout July to raise public awareness of disaster preparedness and response.
