MISS Intercontinental 2021 Cinderella Faye Obeñita has come home.

Earlier today, Obeñita, together with Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano, held a press conference at the capitol kiosk.

During the press conference, Obeñita reiterated that she and the rest of her team have talked with the Miss Intercontinental 2021 organization where they allowed her to continue her work in the Province being a Senior Tourism Officer.

There are a lot of activities lined up for Obeñita.

“We will be traveling across the continents, seminars, workshops for aspiring queens also, my team also have a talked with the Miss Intercontinental organization and glad to know that they also made some compromises with our contract. Instead of staying in Spain for one year, to fulfill my duties, they allowed me to continue my work here at the provincial government,” she said.

She articulated that if there is a need for her to fly to other countries for some special purposes, she said she will be doing it, especially since there are lots of scheduled invitations from other countries being lined up already.

Obeñita also said that she will continue her advocacy of cervical cancer awareness.

“This is very personal advocacy (for me). I have friends, family members who died of cervical cancer and I said to myself that I really want to continue the fight for them,” she said.

She is working with other organizations and also with the Provincial Health Office to have free testing on cervical cancer for women.

This afternoon, Obeñita will be joining the Sangguniang Panlalawigan session as the Provincial Board Members and Vice-governor Jeremy Jonahmar Peleaz will give her a citation on her winning.

For his part, Emano said that Obeñita’s winning is one of his big accomplishments here in Misamis Oriental.

Obeñita arrived yesterday along with the Misamis Oriental Tourism team in a motorcade from Laguindingan Airport to Opol town.

According to Provincial Tourism Officer Jeffrey Saclot, this is their way of expressing their gratitude to the supporters of Obeñita here in the province.

They also announced that the Miss Intercontinental 2021 will also have a motorcade in the 1st district of the province today as part of her two-week busy schedule for her homecoming.
