CAGAYAN de Oro City's health office (CHO) is investigating the possible water contamination after a rise in vomiting and diarrhea cases, City Health Officer Dr. Rachel Daba Dilla said late Monday, September 22.
“We have already collected water samples from various establishments and standpipes across the city,” Dilla said.
She added that the samples have been sent to the Department of Health–10 laboratory and are currently under examination.
Dilla said residents should remain vigilant while awaiting the test results.
“We are still waiting for the official results of the laboratory tests, and once the findings are released, the public will be informed immediately,” she said.
The City Health Office urged residents to observe proper food and water safety practices during the investigation.
Anyone experiencing symptoms of vomiting or diarrhea is advised to seek care at the nearest health center.
