GINGOOG City Mayor Erick Cañosa looks forward to the opening of a brand new mall in the city located at Barangay 20, here.
Touted to be the biggest mall in Misamis Oriental, the Gaisano Grand is scheduled to open this Friday, after almost four years of waiting since its construction started in 2018.
However, the city mayor reminds everyone to follow the minimum health protocols all the time, especially on witnessing the opening of business of the said mall in the city.
“Finally, it is now open and we are very optimistic on the opening of this mall that helps increase the city’s revenue collections in the middle of this pandemic in regards to business tax,” Cañosa said.
The mayor added the mall opening contributes to the city’s economic recovery plan under the Cañosa-Unabia administration.
“It will really help boost our economic development which has been affected in this pandemic,” Cañosa said.
It will also help the unemployment rate of the city which is the mall will hire about 548 workers, all of whom will be Gingoog residents, Cañosa said.
The mall, the mayor said, will also help uplift the small-scale businesses of the city, including market vendors, eateries, boarding houses, and the public transport industry.
“The opening of business of the Gaisano Grand Gingoog is the addition to our tourism development programs such as the ongoing development of Bajangon Water Parks located in Barangay San Juan and also the ongoing development of “Da Grove” located at Gingoog Highway 955,” said Cañosa.
