CAMP Alagar presented to Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar yesterday the 2,522 loose firearms it has seized since January.
Of the 2,522 loose firearms, 225 are guns surrendered by former rebels and are scheduled for demilitarization and disposal. The former rebels who surrendered the guns will benefit from the government’s E-Clip program.
Ninety-five of the seized firearms were confiscated during Simultaneous Anti-criminality Law Enforcement Operations.
The rest of the seized firearms were deposited for safe-keeping under Oplan Katok. These guns were deposited by the owners for lack of licenses and pertinent documentation.
This year, the Police Regional Office-10 focused on the campaign against illegal drugs. According to Eleazar, PNP has documented over 1,570 police operations that resulted in the arrest of 1,965 individuals.
They have seized over 9,575 grams of shabu with a total market value of P62 million.
Eleazar said he is satisfied with the achievement of PRO-10.
“All these are achieved with the excellent service of Police Office-10 towards their goal to maintain peace and order of Region 10,” Eleazar added.
