THE Bukidnon provincial government has provided new patrol vehicles to 177 barangays across its four districts, enhancing mobility for Barangay Tanods in their efforts to maintain peace and order.

The P50-million initiative, officially launched on Jan. 24, aims to improve emergency response and security in local communities.

“We need to ensure our barangays are efficient,” said Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque. “Here in the province, we support our barangays and municipalities in maintaining peace and order, as well as health.”

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan endorsed the program, with Vice Governor Clive D. Quiño commending the dedication of Barangay Tanods.

"We thank you for your participation in ensuring peace and order in Bukidnon through your volunteer work," Quiño said.

Barangay officials welcomed the donation, highlighting its impact on public safety.

Joel Camarillo, captain of Barangay San Miguel in Maramag, said the vehicles will help Tanods respond more quickly to emergencies.

“May these patrol vehicles symbolize hope, trust, and the unity of Bukidnon’s four districts,” Camarillo said.

Amelito Salilo, a Barangay Tanod from San Vicente, Sumilao, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing how the vehicles will improve their ability to patrol and handle emergencies.

“This gift from the province of Bukidnon will be a huge help,” Salilo said. “With these vehicles, we can respond automatically to emergencies and ensure the safety of our communities.” (With reports from JSA/PIA 10-Bukidnon)
