I'm more of a book hoarder than a clothes hoarder. I no longer buy clothes on a whim. I consider a lot of things.
Is it classic or trendy?
Can I pair this with what I already have?
How many looks can I make with this?
Is the stitching good? Will it last for years?
Is the price worth it?
Yes, those four bold letters that read, SALE, still make me think, "Be still my heart." Human as I am, I do have misses, and I get carried away. However, age and experience have taught me to tread this path with a note of caution.
When you know your style, you will no longer run after trends. Instead, you use it to keep your wardrobe updated. I get ideas from fashion trends and incorporate them into my style.
When it comes to books, that's where I'm not rational. I tend to hoard because I want to have it. I have at least 20 books I haven't even read after buying. Probably more than that if you include those that I have started to read but put off.
I love watching them and thinking that I have this and that. Crazy, you might say, or my brother would probably say that. However, I know money spent is not put to waste since I know I will read them in time. I have started to read books I bought from years back.
Book lovers would understand when I say I love the smell of books. I even noticed that each book has a different scent. I did a bit of research on this. New books almost have an identical smell. The difference lies in the ink, the chemicals, and the paper used. As the books age, they differ in scent because of handling and other environmental factors.

Books and clothes are on opposite sides of the street. They are poles apart, but there has to be a balance. Each caters to our soul and senses, respectively. A fashionista would say there are timeless designs, but a bookworm would say there are also timeless literary works.
At the end of the tunnel, fashion and reading still meet. And that's what you call a fashion magazine. You get to enjoy your penchant for fashion and your love for reading.
The condescending in you might ask, what's there to read? And that's where you are mistaken again. There are fashion magazines that have engaging and stimulating articles.
