MAJOR victories in ballgame events propelled the Black Panthers from Cluster 3 into retaining the overall championship crown in the Paglaum Cup Civil Service Anniversary Sportsfest 2024 concluded, over the weekend, at the Capitol ground, Cagayan de Oro City.
The resilient Black Panthers ruled anew the basketball competition and swept the men's and women’s volleyball titles to assure them of another overall championship finish in the month-long multifarious meet in line with the 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA).
Cluster 3, reinforced by the athletes from the Provincial Health Office, Provincial Health Insurance Office, Misamis Oriental Provincial Hospitals, MisOr Cares, and Nutrition Office, also triumphed in badminton’s men's doubles and mixed category.
“Hayag na next year nga road to grandslam ang Cluster 3 kon dili mag upgrade ang mga rival teams. Kontrolado nila ang ballgames though close fight sa basketball kay one-point ra sila nagdaug kontra Blue Eagles sa Cluster 1,” CCS Sportsfest tournament director Zosimo ‘Inting’ Tan-gan told Gold Star Daily.
The other sports disciplines have been dominated by Cluster 10 and 5 for table tennis for women, Cluster 3 for table tennis for men, Cluster 6 for women’s darts, Cluster 5 for men's darts, Cluster 5 for women’s chess, Cluster 7 for men’s chess and Cluster 1 for women’s badminton.
