THE Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm) has officially surpassed its annual investment goal, recording P4.1 billion in approved investments as of July 2025.
This achievement represents 136.67% of its P3 billion target and was confirmed Monday, July 28, during a Bangsamoro Board of Investments (BBOI) deliberation in Davao City.
The latest figures include the recent approval of two new investment projects valued at more than P800 million.
These projects encompass critical sectors such as agriculture and agribusiness, specifically the coconut industry in Maguindanao del Sur, and mass housing under the real estate sector in Maguindanao del Norte. The initiatives are projected to create at least 230 jobs, directly contributing to economic inclusion and regional development.
The BBOI had already reached P3.2 billion in approved investments by April.
Monday’s deliberation officially confirmed the additional total of more than P800 million, bringing the region’s cumulative investment approvals to P4.1 billion.
“This is a strong sign that the Bangsamoro is now being seen as a viable and trusted investment destination. With Moral Governance as our foundation, we are proving that peace and development can go hand in hand. This milestone is part of our Economic Jihad — a peaceful struggle to uplift the lives of our people through honest governance and sustainable progress,” Chief Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua said in an emailed statement.
Minister of Finance, Budget and Management (MFBM) Ubaida Pacasem, who also serves as an ex-officio Board of Governor of BBOI, said: “These numbers reflect sound fiscal discipline and economic strategy. We are seeing the impact of good governance translate into real opportunities for our people.”
“Barmm’s improving business climate is opening doors for more industries to thrive. This success should inspire more local and foreign investors to explore our potential,” Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism (MTIT) Abuamri Taddik, also an ex-officio BBOI Board of Governor said.
BBOI Chairperson Mohamad Omar Pasigan expressed appreciation for the region’s momentum.
“This is not just a win for the BBOI, but for the entire Bangsamoro. We thank our investors and stakeholders for their trust, and we remain committed to fulfilling this Amana entrusted to us — to build a more competitive, inclusive, and investor-friendly region for all,” Pasigan said.
Regular BBOI Board of Governors Datu Habib Ambolodto and Manan Baraguir were also present at the board meeting, actively contributing to the review and approval process.
As Barmm continues to attract strategic investments, the BBOI remains committed to aligning all efforts with the Bangsamoro Development Plan, ensuring economic progress is inclusive, sustainable and transformative for the entire Bangsamoro community.
