MARAWI City ― It is still all in the family of the Alontos and Adiongs in Lanao del Sur as incumbent Gov. Mamintal ‘Bombit’ Adiong garnered more votes than his closest rival.
Adiong garnered 267,121 votes while his rival, Gapor Randy Usman managed only to get 56,357 votes according to ABS-CBN’s Halalan 2022 post at 6:02 pm today.
His son, Mujam, who is running for the vice gubernatorial post in Lanao del Sur, appeared to be heading for the win according to the latest post-ABS-CBN’s Halalan 2022 post at 6:02 pm.
Bombit’s younger brother, Zia Alonto Adiong, is also leading in the race for the 1st legislative district of Lanao del Sur.
Zia who made national headlines as spokesperson of Task Force Marawi during the five-month siege in Marawi in 2017, garnered 175,591 votes.
His opponent, Abdul Malik Fatani, got only 25,023 votes in the 6:02 pm results of ABS-CBN’s Halalan 2022.
Another brother, Ansaruddin Alonto “Hooky” Adiong is winning the mayoralty race in their hometown in Ditsaan-Ramain in Lanao del Sur.
“Hooky” who was a former governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao after Governor Zaldy Ampatuan was removed from office following the Maguindanao in 2009, got 6,517 votes of the total votes that were canvassed.
