AS if the four to five hours of daily rotational blackouts are not enough, this city’s lone water facility has announced that there will be no water in select villages in the city for 12 hours today. In an e-mailed notice, Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) announced that the concessionaires from Barangay Bugo to Barangay Gusa would have no water from 9 am to 9 pm, July 30. Ladele Sagrado, COWD spokesperson, said that the temporary water service interruption was due to “a mainline leakage repair” of a 400-mm diameter pipeline near Agusan Elementary School in Barangay Agusan, this city. “To facilitate the repair, operation at the Bugo Booster Station, PW No. 23 at Tin-ao, PW Nos. 28 and 29 at Tablon will have to be shutdown,” Sagrado stated in the notice. Sagrado advised their concessionaires in the affected barangays to store enough water for their consumption during the interruption period. (cc)
