FIRE broke out inside a store selling used furniture and other items from Japan on Capt. Vicent Roa St. in Barangay 28 at around 1 am yesterday.
SFO3 Dines Dales placed structural damage estimates at P100 thousand but a worker of Japino Surplus Trading, owned by Achang Yamamoto, said the fire destroyed over P2 million in property and stocks.
Firemen responded at around 1 am but it took them until 4:30 am to declare a “fire-out.”
“Naglisod ang atong mga firefighter tungod sa dagko kaayo nga mga aparador. Dili maka-penetrate atong tubig,” Dales said.
Investigators have yet to determine the exact cause of the fire.
Guard Jaime Manija said he suspected the fire was a result of faultry electrical wirings. He said he heards explosions inside the establishment. -NITZ ARANCON
