ILIGAN City – Police authorities and partner agencies rescued two minor girls from online sexual exploitation during an operation in Barangay Pala-o on Thursday, October 2.

Around 4:48 pm, joint operatives of Task Force OSAEC, led by the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO) together with units from ICPS 5, RACU 10, WCPC-MFU, CIDMU, and RIDMD 10, served a search warrant on Chico Street, Barangay Pala-o, here.

Authorities arrested a certain Arce, a fruit vendor and resident of the area, for violating Republic Act 11930, or the Anti-OSAEC and Anti-CSAEM Act.

Confiscated from the site were electronic devices and other items allegedly used in the crime. Forensic tests confirmed their link to online exploitation activities.

The two victims, ages nine and 10, were turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office for aftercare and intervention.

The ICPO expressed gratitude to Mayor Freddie Siao, the International Justice Mission Philippines, the Netherlands Police, and the Australian Federal Police for their support in the successful operation.

Police said the operation sends a clear message: OSAEC has no place in Iligan City.
