By KRISTIAN DAVE ACHONDO Desk Editor THE Cagayan de Oro Power and Light Co. (Cepalco) has scheduled two-hour rotating blackouts in the city again due to the power supply shortage in Mindanao. The latest schedule of rotating blackouts would take effect today until Nov. 21, and would affect many parts of Cagayan de Oro and Misamis Oriental. “This is due to the continuing power supply shortage in Mindanao,” reads a Cepalco advisory. Cepalco said the actual switch off and switch on time may vary depending on the actual load curtailment levels set by the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP). The affected areas were divided into four groups. Group 1 is scheduled to experience the blackout from 5 pm to 7:30 pm. The group includes greater portions of Carmen up to lower Balulang, Upper Carmen and all of Macanhan; greater portions of Bulua, Iponan and Kauswagan, DV Soria and City proper up to Cogon, JR Borja extention, Camaman-an, Bolonsori, vicinity of Limketkai, Puregold and along CM Recto Ave and Villanueva proper. Group 2 is scheduled to experience the blackout from 9:30 am to 12 noon, covering all of Bonbon, Bayabas, Montalban St., Macahambus up to Burgos St., Corrales Ave, towards Velez St and Tiano Bros.; Tablon down to Baloy, Gusa, greater portions of Barangay Lapasan, Agora, Malasag and Indahag. Group 3 is scheduled to experience the blackout from 12 noon to 2:30 pm. The group includes Barangay Macasandig from Tambo, Tibasak, Mandumol and Taguanao; greater parts of Nazareth, areas in City Hall, some parts of Jasaan, Tagoloan, Bugo, Puerto and Agusan. Lastly, Group 4 would experience the blackout from 2:30 pm to 5 pm. The areas include RER Subdivision phase 1 and 2; the streets of Capistrano, Recto, Licuan, Mabulay and J.Pacana St., PN Roa road down to Silver Creek, Uptown CDO from Price Plaza up to Lumbia, all of Macabalan and all of Barangay Baluarte, Sugbongcogon, Sta. Cruz, Sta. Ana up to Sto. Rosario and Kirahon resettlement area in Misamis Oriental.
