ILIGAN City--Two persons on a motorcycle were killed when they were ran over by a 10-wheeler on the highway in Tambacan, this city, over the weekend.
Tubod police station commander Senior Insp. Allan Abalde identified the dead as Justine Richelle Nacabalan Paalisbo and Briget Paalisbo Doroteo.
Abalde said the victims were riding a black Honda motorcycle registered to Yasser Pangcoga of Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur, when the accident happened at around 4:30 pm on Saturday.
He said the victims were noving toward the north when the motorcycle driver lost his balance, and they fell on the road. The victims were then ran over by a 10-wheel truck registered to Wilfredo Antiola of Kawayan, Lala, Lanao del Sur. It was reportedly driven at that time by one Joselito Pardillo Viradio of Balo-i, Lanao del Norte.
David Alip, who led a rescue team, said the victims died on the spot.
The truck driver turned himself over to the Police Station 5 in this city, said PO2 Efraim Delapina.
